The value in choosing the right training provider
When you pay for a course with a recognised accredited training provider, you pay for the knowledge, experience, custom skills and commitment (amongst many other things). Choosing the right training provider doesn’t mean choosing the cheapest or fastest provider. It’s about choosing someone with the skills and resources to help you become the best professional that you can.
A CONVERSATION ABOUT PERCEIVED VALUE:
A customer asked a training provider how much it would cost to train in a particular element of beauty.
The training provider gave him a quote: £595.00
The customer responded: That’s seems really high.
The training provider asked: What do you think is a reasonable price for this job?
The customer answered: £99.00, “I can buy it from the internet for this”
The training provider responded: Ok, then I invite you to do it yourself.
The customer answered: I don’t know how to.
The training provider said: Alright, then how about for £250 I’ll teach you how to. So besides saving you £345, you’ll learn valuable skills that will benefit you in the future.
The customer answered: Sounds good! Let’s do it!
The training provider responded: Great! To get started, you are going to need some qualifications. You will need a university qualification in further education, at least an HND, all the course literature, and be a member of a government awarding body etc …….
The customer answered: But I don’t have any of these skills and I can’t justify buying all of this for one course.
The training provider responded: Ok. Well then for an additional £345.00 I can help you with my skills and qualifications and memberships of the awarding bodies to you to use for this one time.
The customer answered: Okay. That’s fair.
The training provider responded: Great! We will start the project on Monday.
The customer answered: I work all week running my own business or working in a full-time job. I’m only available on the weekends or one evening a week.
The training provider responded: If you want to learn from me then you will need to work when I work. This will take anywhere between 3-5 days or 6 months (depending on the course) so you will need to take the appropriate time off work.
The customer answered: That means I’m going to have to sacrifice my pay or use my vacation time!
The training provider responded: That’s true. Remember, when you do a job yourself you need to account for unproductive factors.
The customer answered: What do you mean by that?
The training provider responded: Writing and delivering a course completely from start to finish includes the time I have spent in the last 20 years gaining the experience, and qualifications to deliver the training, the weeks, months, and hours researching and preparing the course packs, additional learning materials, fun quizzes and videos. Sending all this work to the relevant authoritative bodies and paying their fees to have the courses insured and accredited. Marking all the course work sent back from each student, delivering feedback, (sometimes on a few occasions). Spending the hours of practical time showing them how to do the treatment once they have learned the theory. Sending all this to the awarding body and awaiting their feedback. Paying the awarding body fees for every single student (anywhere between £25 and £750). Watching the student’s video of them perform the treatment if the course is completed online. Oh, and did I mention the course pack there …. that’s where we will start on Monday so I need you to meet me here Monday morning at 9:00am.
The customer answered: At 9am?!! I don’t work a Monday
The customer answered: You know, I’m realizing that a lot more goes into a course than what a customer sees and that when I complete the course I can earn lots of money from it. Your price of £595 is very reasonable. I would like to sign up.

If you google a course in future and can find a cheap one else where please don’t disrespect a qualified training centre by trying to get them to lower their prices.
If their price exceeds your budget, there’s nothing wrong with looking on discounted sites.

Sharing this to support all my friends, family and clients who are Entrepreneurs, Business Owners and have taken years to train and are now sharing their skills, for a fraction of the cost of their years of sweat, tears and sacrifice.
We did not write this, and saw it referring to another business and wanted to share.
