Goodbye cosmetic surgery, hello Mesotherapy

Fusion Mesotherapy Nappage

Goodbye cosmetic surgery

The past couple of years have welcomed the rise of casual cosmetic surgery; Botox parties, filler competitions on social media, surgical procedures done from the comfort of your own home.  They have almost become mainstream, begging the question… what are we actually putting into our bodies? Is it safe? According to Stylus’ senior beauty editor, Lisa Payne, changes are on the horizon though – we are doing a beauty 360 and the focus is now on what we are putting into our bodies, not just what is going on them.   With treatments like botox becoming so popular, the reality that any form of cosmetic surgery is serious, aiming to actually paralyse the muscles, can almost be forgotten… yikes.  But for those who find the prospect of ageing skin even more terrifying, no need to worry! Natural alternatives are available, and although they are by no means a botox alternative, filling your skin with vitamins to give it that rejuvenating boost instead is certainly a more favourable option.

Hello Mesotherapy

Fusion Mesotherapy NappageMesotherapy is dubbed as the next big thing in beauty, with some of the brightest faced celebs as big fans – think Frankie Bridge’s stunning glow, and Kim Kardashian West’s infamous ‘vampire’ PRP facial. So, what is it and why are people going crazy for it?

Mesotherapy Nappage is a technique used to rejuvenate the skin by means of a transdermal injection.  The multivitamin solution and natural plant extracts are thought to improve the signs of skin aging, without injecting anything toxic into your skin. The Meso Pen Platinum device takes fractional Mesotherapy to a new level.  With anti-back flow technology and sculpted bevelled edges, the bespoke serum flows freely through the 9 needle cartridge. Using vitamin based products to look after your skin – as opposed to turning to cosmetic surgery – may be the one for some people, but it is still important to check what is in your Mesotherapy.

Although this generally applies to all beauty treatments, making sure the product is of good quality is essential with Mesotherapy. The best effects come from product which is free from impurities; the solution must be perfectly clear and sterilised by filtration.  As tempting as low priced products may be, the likelihood is they will be filled with cosmetic grade products, which is allowed by the FDA to contain up to 30% bacteria. Pharmaceutical grade on the other hand must be 99.9% pure… so product can only contain 0.01% of bacteria. With a treatment like Mesotherapy, the proof is in the pudding.  The quality of the product is obvious throughout the treatment – cosmetic grade ingredients will contain high levels of endotoxins, so say hello to fever and redness post injection! But is the pain factor on par with a surgical procedure?  A good quality Mesotherapy treatment is almost pain-free at injection, or at the very most slightly uncomfortable.

The era of cosmetic surgery and fillers is coming to an end… botox and fake lips have had their day. We’re welcoming the new kid on the block and celebrating a new dawn – it’s all about being au natural, and Mesotherapy is about to become your new best friend.
