There is no wrong path to your future

 

Taking inspiration from the #nowrongpath campaign, the team here has been thinking about how our own journeys have led to us working here at the fabulous Academy.

While students around the country wake up today to news that will no doubt shape their future, the biggest lesson that we feel can be taken from results day is this – exam results are not the be-all and end-all.

Although waiting – in total anticipation – for that letter (or text) from SQA can be daunting, there are so many different routes to go down.  Realising you haven’t done quite as well as you hoped can be disappointing but there are so many options.

Getting brilliant results is absolutely wonderful but there is so much pressure on students to do well so they can get into college or university straight away.  There are so many different routes to go down, from apprenticeships and internships to going straight into the world of work.  

It is so easy to compare yourself to others and how well other people are doing.  There is no straight path to success.  And the only person you should compare yourself to is the person you were yesterday.
